3 Easy Ways to License Your Pet!
Have you previously licensed a pet?
If you’ve ever licensed before with The City of Sarnia, we likely have your record on file.
- I/WE agree that the dog will be leashed and muzzled at all times when not securely enclosed within our property
- I/WE certify that the dog has been spayed/neutered
- I/WE agree to abide by all rules and regulations as per the (Dog Owners' Liability Act) as amended from time to time
- I/WE certify that we have owned the restricted breed dog prior to August 29, 2005 and/or the restricted breed dog was born in Ontario prior to November 28, 2005

Our representatives will enter the required information into our system on your behalf. You will be required to pay a fee for each of your pets' licences as per the fee schedule below.
You will also be sent an email with a receipt and link to activate your online account where you can upload more information about your pet. Keep your dog safe
Once you receive your pet's tag in the mail in approximately two weeks time, make sure you attach it to their collar. Complete the registration form
First time licences require you to provide basic details about your dog as well as your contact information. This not only allows us to ship you your pet's tag, it's also used to reunite you with your dog if they are ever lost.
You will be required to pay a fee for each of your pets' licences. Please see the fee schedule below.
We only accept cheques, Visa and MasterCard by mail. If you are visiting the humane society in person, you may pay by cash, cheque, debit or credit card. Please make all cheques payable to DocuPet.
Mail your form to:
Kingston ON K7L 2L1
OR drop it off at the address listed above.
After your registration and payment has been received and processed our records will be updated to reflect an active licence status and your tags will be shipped within one business day from being entered in our system.
It is important to note that mailed applications are not always entered into our system immediately and this will often delay the shipment of your pet's tag. If you would like to ensure your pet's licence application is processed right away please license online, at the city office, or by phone.
You will be sent an email with a receipt and link to activate your online account where you can upload more information about your pet. If you do not have an email, your activation code will be mailed to you along with your pet's tag. Please note that you will need a valid email to setup your online DocuPet profile.
